So you’ve chosen the most beautiful color, now what?
We recommend not shampooing for a minimum of 24 hrs (bonus points for 48 hrs). Believe it or not color molecules keep working for up to 48 hours after we’ve washed your color out.
Proper color safe shampoo & conditioner is a must! Your stylist will recommend the right products for your hair and your goals. Heat Protectant is SUPER important before any heat styling. Keep your shower temp as cool as you can handle on hair washing days. Heat is the #1 robber of moisture from hair & skin. Adding in a deep conditioner into your routine is also beneficial. Once your hair has been colored it has been chemically changed forever! Keeping moisture in your hair is key to keeping your color fresh and vibrant and healthy!
Summer months mean sunshine. The sun darkens skin but lightens hair. Using a natural sunscreen or a brimmed hat will keep your color from fading. Swimming? Soak your hair in fresh water before jumping into that pool or the lake. Clean water is best. Rinse hair as soon as you get out as well.
Winter months wreck havoc on hair and skin. Dry air outside and indoors evaporates moisture. A deep conditioner will be a life saver. Using cream based products instead of alcohol based will help fight moisture loss and static.
Keeping up with a regular haircut schedule will help keep your ends neat and clean. Going months and months will lead to split ends…and there’s no cure for those except to cut them off. Trust us when we say you’ll experience more growth if you maintain a proper haircut schedule.

We know you’d love your new color to last months. Honestly, it’s just not possible. Scientifically you hair goes through some changes after you leave us that play a part in how it changes. Toners/Glosses are usually calibrated for up to 20 shampoos. This is why we always recommend a gloss in between your highlight appointments.
